Twenty-foot blazes were leaving three homes beside a levee on the 2700 square of Taylor Road, as indicated by a 5:50 p.m. tweet by the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
"Initial 911 guest announced 20 foot blazes and there is extra reports of blasts," fire authorities said by means of Twitter.
Aimee Montgomery, a Bethel Island inhabitant, was in Oakley getting her 13-year-old child a hair style when she heard the blast.
"I was a decent separation away and I heard the blast. It was gigantic," said Montgomery, 39, who surged back home just to discover Taylor Road, which she uses to return home, closed off and fire engines everywhere throughout the road.
"It was tremendous blazes, an all out misfortune for the principal house without a doubt. There is not all that much. It's totally gone," Montgomery said as she held up with many others at Bethel Market, toward the finish of Taylor Road, around 500 yards from the fire. "Alternate ones are finished misfortunes as well, however at any rate there's some structure left."
By 8 p.m. the flares had subsided fundamentally and it showed up firemen were understanding the three bursts, witnesses said. No wounds had yet been accounted for.
